Created in 1994 for the French national daily Le Monde, the original typeface (Le Monde Journal) is suited towards small text sizes and for the variability of newspaper printing. It was developed in three weights by Jean François Porchez. Le Monde Journal PTF, released in 2007, is an expansion on the original, providing pan-European language support, ornaments, and typographic refinements. It is available in OpenType format.
Role: Character design, kerning, hinting, font family assembly, production, and font testing.
