Mencken is a typeface family created in 2005 for the American newspaper The Baltimore Sun. Conceived by Jean François Porchez, it consists of five variations designed for text and sub-headings, seven variations for headlines, and a nameplate font. This project was prepared in three different font formats.
Role: Character design, OpenType development, font family assembly, kerning, hinting, font production, and font testing.
Mencken received honors in 2006 in the Creative Review Type Design Awards.
